Thank you to our sponsors:

Each year, Piedmont Council of the Arts honors area artists, arts organizations, arts educators and arts supporters, through its Arts Awards Celebration.

Arts Awards recipients are nominated by the community. You are invited to nominate an individual or organization in one of the following categories:

  • Individual Artist: Outstanding individuals who have been involved with and supported the arts;
  • Arts Educator: Individuals, schools, organizations, or not-for-profit groups, whose main focus is education in the arts for students of all ages;
  • Arts Organization: Organizations, associations, and clubs that are actively involved in the arts;
  • Business: Corporations and businesses actively promoting the arts
  • Lifetime Achievement: Demonstrated excellence, involvement and accomplishment in the arts and a major contributor to the community.

Purpose:

  • Recognize those who have made significant contributions to the arts through support, involvement and accomplishment;
  • Increase awareness of this community’s vital arts scene;
  • Encourage greater participation and support of the arts.

Guidelines:

  • Category must be designated; only candidates nominated for a specific category will be considered;
  • Individuals or groups may nominate themselves. A nominator may submit as many separate nominations as desired, but only one nomination per category.  Previous honorees are not eligible to receive an additional award in the same category;
  • Nominators are encouraged to attend the Selection Committee Meeting to speak on behalf of their candidate. The Committee is made up of former awardees.
  • Piedmont Council of the Arts Board members are not eligible for nomination.

Arts Awardees will be chosen by a Selection Committee comprised of former Arts Awards winners. Past award recipients, whether an individual or a group, will have one vote.

Please note that at least one letter of support is required. All nominees and honorees will be recognized at the 2007 Arts Awards Celebration.

Deadline:

Nominations are accepted year-round. The deadline for each year is JUNE 1st.

Please submit: nomination form with the nominator’s signature, a one-page narrative about the nominee, and 1-2 letters of support to Piedmont Council of the Arts, P.O. Box 2426, Charlottesville, VA 22902-2426.  Fax to 434-971-9199, or email to pca@cstone.net  For questions call PCA at 434-971-2787.

Please use this form to make nominations.
